Nestled in the bustling area of Wakad, Pune, High Ground Restaurant and Bar is a remarkable example of how design can elevate dining experiences. The project, completed within just six months, was the brainchild of Mr. Nanasaheb Rachkar and his team, who wanted to create a luxurious, multifaceted space that would cater to various types of diners. This 8,150 sq. ft. venue stands out for its unique seating areas, cutting-edge design, and a diverse menu. Whether you’re there for a casual night out or a special gathering, High Ground offers a setting that promises both comfort and style.stylish, functional living space designed to meet the client’s evolving needs.Â
Client Brief And Objectives
Mr. Nanasaheb Rachkar, known for his ventures in construction, farming, and petroleum, sought to venture into a new domain hospitality. Post-lockdown, he wanted to create a unique restaurant and bar that would not only provide a diverse menu but also offer different dining experiences under one roof. The main goals were:
- A variety of seating options to accommodate diverse groups, from families and couples to business gatherings.
- A high-end ambiance that exudes luxury but is also warm and inviting.
- A functional layout that separates areas for smoking, dining, and entertainment (like DJ nights and live kitchen shows).
- Distinctive design elements to make the space stand out, from custom-made furniture to unique partitions like bamboo, ropes, and pine wood.
The challenge was to create these unique areas while adhering to a tight timeline and budget.
Materials and Design Specifications for the Project
The project features Legrand switches for their sleek design and reliable performance, integrated with customized hanging lights made in India. Additional lighting is provided by Futura and Luker ceiling and other lights, creating a contemporary and functional lighting scheme.
Saint-Gobain glass is used for its superior quality, durability, and ability to create a contemporary, seamless look in the interiors.
The project is equipped with a Daikin 49T air conditioning system, ensuring efficient climate control and optimal cooling throughout the space. For lighting, the design includes customized hanging lights made in India, offering a unique and elegant touch. Additional lighting solutions are provided by Futura and Luker, which include ceiling and other light fixtures that complement the overall design, creating a well-lit and inviting atmosphere.
The walls are finished with Asian Paints Royale, offering a premium matt finish, while pine wood surfaces are treated with ICI Melamine Polish, preserving the natural grain and ensuring durability.
Custom-designed furniture includes sofas and chairs by Just Antiques, combining comfort with aesthetic appeal. Tables, crafted from Sheesham wood and custom-designed by Just Antiques, bring natural elegance to the space. Additionally, Parshwa Wall Coverings offers customized wallpapers, adding a personalized touch to the interiors.
Our Approach
The design concept for High Ground was rooted in creating spaces that feel intimate yet grand. Every corner of the restaurant and bar has its own distinct personality, carefully designed to provide comfort while enhancing the overall aesthetic experience. The vision was to combine luxury with functionality, making it an ideal place for all occasions—be it a casual dinner or a high-end party.
After The Renovation:
- The Huts provide privacy and comfort for small groups, offering an intimate dining experience.
- The Swing Area is a showstopper, featuring hanging tables and a dynamic, ocean-inspired theme.
- The Rope Area adds a playful yet refined touch, with its beautifully crafted wave-patterned ceiling and partitions.
- The Couple Area and Banquet Area provide spaces for both casual dining and formal events, each with its own unique design language.
